Flywheel side is flat. To be 100% sure if you put the plate on the flywheel and turn it and anything hits it has to go the other way. I am not saying the others are wrong but I have put clutches in tons of times. Cars/trucks and yes tractors usually have dampner springs. The side that is raised usually will only clear in the pressure plate.
